SCLC 4 was held in Winnipeg, MB from July 6 through July 7, 1984. It was organized by Dick Carter and Paul Voorhis, and held at the University of Manitoba. The program from this year appears below:

“An association of agency and plurality in Omaha-Ponka”
John E. Koontz (University of Colorado)
“Further observations on Biloxi phonology and morphology”
Robert L. Rankin (University of Kansas)
“Notes on Catawba syntax”
Paul Voorhis (Brandon University)
*This program reflects what was posted by Ardis Eschenberg (https://web.archive.org/web/20030623080225/http://wings.buffalo.edu/linguistics/ssila/SACCweb/SACC4.htm). This site has only two talks (Bob’s and John’s). There are several possible talk handouts in Bob’s NAA papers that are dated July 1984, but it is unclear if these were papers that were presented at the conference or if they are associated with the Comparative Siouan Workshop that took place in the summer of 1984 at the University of Colorado. Furthermore, the date for the conference as listed on Ardis’s page may not reflect the length of this meeting, since it seems like there were several attendees. Any attendees who have insight into this program are invited to reach out to clarify the program above. The September 1994 SSILA Newsletter states to contact Paul Voorhis for copies of papers (https://www.ssila.org/s/3-3.pdf).
**The Comparative Siouan Workshop was held in Boulder, CO from July 15 through August 17, 1984. It was organized by David Rood, and held at the University of Colorado. Attendees included Richard T. Carter, Willem de Reuse, Randolph Graczyk, A. Wesley Jones, John E. Koontz, Robert L. Rankin, David S. Rood, Patricia A. Shaw, and Paul Voorhis. These participants were joined at times by Josephine White Eagle, Elizabeth Garrett, Ray Gordon, and Allan R. Taylor. Terrance Kaufman did not attend, but did loan the group his comparative notes and files.
